2/16 Experience Post - Scholastic Art Awards

It was really interesting to go to the scholastic art show at the Visual Art Center. I really liked seeing all the different types of works that won awards. I noticed that a lot of the pieces that won gold keys were portraits, and many of them included some type of distorted figure. I also noticed that a majority of the pieces that won awards were some form of realism. I didn't see any truly non-objective paintings. I really liked how colorful a lot of the pieces were, and my favorite pieces were the ones that clearly drew on the artists life experiences.
