Art historians are people who study art throughout history and put art into a historical context in order to better understand the art, as well as the time that the art was made in. Studying art history can be crucial in understanding the culture of ancient periods. All art historians get at least a bachelor's degree in art history, but many also earn their master's or doctorate degrees in art history. Some also earn teaching degrees if they are interested in teaching art history. There are specific college majors designated for art history.
