I have begun to think about and experiment with different materials I might use. My family drinks A LOT of seltzer so I have two full sized trash bags of empty seltzer cans I am planning on using. We also have a can crusher so I was thinking about utilizing that. I want to use to cans to build the main "heart" piece of my istallation structure and to build supports for it. I want to use red/pink string, ribbon, and fabric to connect the main structure to the rest of the room and fill the space, but I don't have much of that right now.

Problems:

  1. I need to find a way to make all the cans the color I want

  2. I still need to figure out what room my istallation is going to be in

  3. I want to hang a lot of things from my ceiling but don't know if that is going to be possible

  4. I need to figure out how to attach things to the walls and floors without ruining them

  5. I don't have enough string/ribbon/fabric

Solutions:

  1. I could use spray paint, although that may be difficult and time consuming. I could also cover the can base with red fabric of some sort

  2. I could use my basement because it is empty and unfinished so it does not matter if I mess up the walls/ceilings

  3. I could use command ceiling hooks

  4. I could use command hooks and nails

  5. I am going to go to scrap rva and get some.
